A Liebster Award nomination

Thank you Josh Gross for the nomination (I’ve just realised it has been a month since the nomination, and it’s gone way too quickly).

So here goes:

My responses to questions

What are your favourite types of posts to create, and why?

I’ve enjoyed writing about science talks I’ve been to recently. These posts have encouraged me to read around the talks and engage with them more deeply than I otherwise would have.

Where do you do your best writing?

Generally when I’m at home, although writing in the library is also nice.

What is your typical process for creating blog posts? For example, do you write several drafts before publishing a post? Or do you hammer it out in one go?

With shorter posts, I tend to write it in one go, which I used to do for most of my posts. I currently have a few drafts/ideas for future posts saved, which I have come to prefer recently.

Do you engage in other forms of art, besides writing? If so, which ones?

Not currently, although I’m thinking of starting a YouTube channel to go alongside this blog.

What is your favourite book or book series, and why?

Good question! My answer seems to change often, but at the moment my favourite book (and the last one I read) was This is Going to Hurt by Adam Kay. He has taken situations we don’t often talk about and explored them in a humorous light.

Where do you feel most at home?

Where I grew up and my university city.

What is your favourite food?

I like Spanish and Greek food.

If you could travel anywhere, all expenses paid, where would it be?

I have the feeling “around the world” is a cheat answer. I’ve wanted to travel to Australia for a long time.

What was your favourite subject in school, and why?

Sciences, mainly due to some fantastic teachers.

Have you spent time outside today?

Yes!
